The Grand Prix in Trentino will be the second of three back-to-back rounds of a twenty-round MXGP World Championship schedule which leaves little time to recover from injury; both Mathis, who was injured last month at round two in Spain and Pauls, injured last weekend in Sardinia, will miss this GP to ensure that they will be fully-recovered when they are ready to return. So Romain Febvre, currently runner-up in the MXGP series standings and winner last weekend of the 22nd Grand Prix of his career, will be the sole KRT representative on a track where he has many good memories with four moto wins and six podiums including a second position last year.
Antti Pyrhonen (KRT team manager) : “Motocross at any level has its highs and lows. Last weekend we had both with Romain on top of the box but Pauls having to step back from competing. With such a close proximity of the races, and such high intensity of competition, we must consider recovery time as a priority, so Pauls and Mathis will not take part in this coming event, leaving us to focus all our attention on supporting Romain.”
